Jamil Ellis CTO

Jamil Ellis currently works as a Senior Software Engineer at HBO.com. Prior to that, he was a Senior Developer at MLB, where he led a development team. Jamil also worked as a lead developer with Adobe Consulting for the NFL and as back-end web developer at Agency.com, where he did cross-channel web and mobile development. In addition to his technology experience, Jamil has worked as a producer and writer in NYC and LA and is a co-founder of ETC Productions LLC. He has worked as a freelance producer on numerous independent films and cable television companies. Jamil received his B.S. in Computer Engineering from Columbia University.
Anna Akbari is a sociologist and professor in the department of Media, Culture, and Communication at New York University. In addition to Splice, she is the co-founder of Bricoler Social Interaction Design, which uses social software and interaction strategies to make organizations more collaborative and innovative, and the founder of Closet Catharsis, her fashion consulting company. She is a frequent guest lecturer and writer, most recently for TEDxSiliconAlley and The Atlantic. Her research on mediated identity and networked social relations is key to the propriety methods that distinguish Splice.
Joe Lee has a Global 100 and entrepreneurial career spanning over 30 years. He is an experienced software industry researcher, technologist, marketer, business developer, and executive. After a stint in the U.S. Coast Guard, he became an Artificial Intelligence researcher and developer, leading to a patent held by a Fortune 500 company. His experience in the roll-out of several social business initiatives, including Asea Brown Boveri, Barclays, and SITA, forms the basis for his pragmatic approach to the utilization of technology to affect process change. He has participated in several industry standards bodies over his career, including a charter lifetime membership in the Black Forest Group, an industry think-tank. Joe has come out of semi-retirement in the past year to partner on both Splice and Bricoler, and serves as an advisor to several startups in the New York tech scene.
